Multi-Touch roll stack

The demand for higher and higher outputs exceeds the cooling capacity of conventional roll stacks. That is why we have developed the Multi-Touch roll stack for high-performance applications.

The two main rolls of the Multi-Touch roll stack have a larger diameter for low deflection, and the following rolls are smaller to produce flat, stress-free sheet by multiple short changes of cooling sides.

Multi-Touch roll stacks are also available as special versions, e.g. in XXL version with inclined or horizontal design. Here, too, the proven Multi-Touch principle is applied.

The working principle of the Multi-Touch roll stack:

Uniform cooling of the sheet’s top and bottom side

Thin-walled rolls for better cooling properties

Multiple nips ensure optimal heat transfer

  • High, constant nip pressure between rolls and sheet ensures no air is trapped, even at higher line speeds
  • Higher transparency and surface gloss due to optimal heat transmission and quick cooling (particularly for PP)
  • Modular concept: the roll stack can be adapted to the expected throughput by adding more rolls
  • Proven design that has been tested in the field
