Dr. Henning Stieglitz was appointed as the 49th member of the VDI Strategic Circle for Plastic Engineering in recognition of his extensive expertise in the field of extrusion technology. In his laudation Torsten Ratzmann acknowledged Dr. Henning Stieglitz's contributions.
In the year 2000, Dr. Henning Stieglitz began his industrial career and joined in 2008 Battenfeld Extrusionstechnik in Bad Oeynhausen, initially taking responsibility for the areas of design and development, as well as one of the three product groups. In the following years, he held various positions within the newly structured corporate group of battenfeld-cincinnati. Since mid-2015, he has been the Chief Technical Officer of the group and one of the two managing directors of BC Extrusion Holding GmbH.
The official appointment of Dr. Henning Stieglitz to the VDI Strategic Circle for Plastic Engineering took place in Dresden in September 2023 as part of a symbolic ceremony. The board of the VDI Strategic Circle for Plastic Engineering, consisting of renowned individuals such as Prof. Dr.-Ing. Christian Hopmann (Institute of Plastics Processing at RWTH Aachen University), Kurt Gebert (Allod Werkstoff GmbH & Co. KG), Torsten Ratzmann (Egeplast International GmbH), and Dr. Stephanie Waschbüsch (wdk Wirtschaftsverband der deutschen Kautschukindustrie e.V.), presented the honor.
The VDI Strategic Circle for Plastic Engineering is an important specialist committee within the VDI Society for Materials Engineering's Plastics Engineering department. Its main goal is to analyze and develop relevant trends in society, economics, research, and education, as well as to promote networking in the field of plastic engineering. The members of the Strategic Circle, known as the "Knights of Plastic Engineering," are leading figures in the plastics industry and science. The VDI Strategic Circle for Plastic Engineering was established in Bamberg in 1972.
