Sewage and drainage pipes (PO)

In sewerage systems, both pressurized and non-pressurized pipes, as well as solid-wall pipes, corrugated pipes and multi-layer pipes made of plastic are in use today. The preferred materials for public sewage (DN 200 to 800 and larger) are PE, PP and PVC. Sewage and drainage pipes manufactured on battenfeld-cincinnati extrusion technology recommend themselves not only by their excellent price-performance ratio, but also by their long service life of at least 50 years.

Pipes for domestic drainage (DN 100 to 200) must be abrasion-resistant, corrosion-resistant against domestic waste water and suitable for a maximum waste water temperature of 95 °C. Due to its high rigidity, PP is the preferred material for sewage pipes and is used particularly for large pipe dimensions.

Drainage pipes are required to meet more and more stringent demands for subterranean drainage systems. Building site drainage systems take care of removing rain and snow water via gutters and downpipes, but they are also essential for building site drainage. In traffic route construction, the surface water from precipitation is absorbed and removed by drainage systems to prevent traffic hazards and structural damage. Especially in road and tunnel construction, but also for building site drainage, preference is given to pipes with a circular profile on the outside and a smooth inner surface.

PP pipes are frequently used in railway tracks, airport and tunnel construction for seeping pipelines, which are exposed to high static and dynamic loads, while PE pipes are used in cycling and pedestrian tracks.
